hey im having a problem with kazaa lite and it used to happen to me also when im using kazaa. i live in jamaica and very alot of time we have power outages. i was downloading something using kazaa lite and then the power went out, when i went back, rebooted and went back to kazaa the file disappeared.
:devil

this is getting me frustrated as it reached 430 megs out of 650 and i am on dialup, so it would take another 40 hours for me to get it back.....

i used a unerase wizard and found the dat file that kazaa deleted. i ran it through the avi previewer and it showed up correclty

i then tried to copy the dat file back into kazaa in hope that it would return to the traffic window so i can resume it where it left off, instead kazaa keeps deleting the file again.

can someone please help me, if there is any dat resume addon for kazaa

much thanks

i would recommend getting an uninterruptable power supply. that way the downloads won't disappear in the first place.

however, on recovery of them...i'm not sure, i've seen threads about it but i can't recall if anyone was successful.

kazaa supports resuming even if the file disappears coz of power outage try tis
once every few minutes pause the d/l n once every 1/2 an hour or 1-2 hr(depending upon the time u have before ur power goes out) restart kazaa
tis way the kazaa saves the current amount of data downloaded.
i thnk tis might work
otherwise dont flame me

I've seen this so many times, and had it happen to me also. I have never seen a fix for this. I'm pretty sure your files are trashed (trust me, it sucks, I've lost nearly 20 gig with shareaza from similar happenings)

http://www.geocities.com/drspud11/index.htm may be something to look at. Its still really an alpha release, but could be intresting, if you could find the part of the file thats corrupted and causing it to crash...you should be golden.

http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?showtopic=40617&st=0 is the discussion area for the program, you'll have to register with their board to view it, but it may be of intrest to you.

Yeah, a UPS is a good idea, its your only really good option
