unexplained upload behaviour

why is it that inspite of setting my preferences to 3 simultaneous uploads, everytime i look away ...i find the whole page full of uploads....when i float the mouse over the page....all the uploads suddenly stop and go back to my original settings??????.............HELP!

handy hint give ppl a bit of info ie what prog u r using what pc etc very hard to advise you when we dont even know what prog u are using

right, what program are you using? some programs don't update the screen when you are idle, some ignore your settings where they conflict with some protocol or other, and some programs are made by hackers who appear and disappear and control your spleen

samalg I don't know the answer to your question exactly but someone smarter than me ought to be along here soon. In the meantime I would like to suggest that you follow the links to kazaa lite on the front page or http://k-lite.tk , this is a cleaned-up version of kazaaa without the ads or spyware and with the k++ cheater patch giving you much power yes

1. If you have any downloads that you would like to resume when you install K-Lite, copy the "download0123456789.dat" (or similar) files from your My Shared Folder to somewhere safe.

2. Uninstall KMD.

3. Download, install and run Spybot Search & Destroy (http://security.kolla.de/) which will clean all the spyware (which is installed with KMD) from your system.

4. Download and install Kazaa Lite (http://www.k-lite.tk). Then, copy the "download0123456789.dat" files into your new My Shared Folder. Run Kazaa Lite and enjoy the new features!

Umm..if you haven't noticed you might want to right click your uploads and press "Clear Completer or errenous" (or something like that) and it will show only active transfers

First, to answer your problem, go into the options menu (Options > Kazaa Options), then go to the advanced tab. See the screenshot below? I'm not sure how they lable it in kazaa, but this is where it will be, uncheck that.

Now, to your bigger problem. I'm going to ask you to do something called a "Clean Install". nasrules showed you a simple way to do it, I'll show you mine (its basicly more lenghty, nothing else)

You use KMD, thats a bad thing. When you install KMD, you install something called spyware. What is spyware? (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9832) In short, its something that slows down your computer, gives you popups, and goes behind your back, giving personal information to marketing companys. Spyware can also be more malicious and open back doors or change internet settings.

There is a version of kazaa WITHOUT spyware. Its called Kazaa - Lite. www.k-lite.tk will allways have the latest version. Not only does it not have spyware, but it also includes built in tools to speed up kazaa and get your downloads done faster. Check back to their site or ours for updates.

Oh, and nas, you missed a step, you have to uninstall kazaa, then remove spyware, etc (after you've backed up your files)

thanx guys! u guys give pretty helpful info!
i know about k lite and all that....i choose to use kmd cause i sell files on altnet (the golden results) and i like to keep a tab on the files that are being provided.
i understand lite does not provide access to the golden tabs.
anyways .....my problem is that i have the settings on 3 uploads, but when im idle.....all of a sudden a hundred people are downloading from me......when i pass the mouse over the page they all get cancelled except the three which are set.
do u think im being hacked or is it a software problem?
P.S: I cleaned my pc from spyware and adware....still this problem occurs.
