Welcome to Zeropaid, EscapE. I just joined a few days ago, myself. I have been reading the forums for the past while and I was impressed at the number of members, the numerous topics available and all of the posts made by the various members. This is a very active site as well as an excellent source for information. I have spent lots of time checking out numerous sites and forums dealing with P2P programs on the internet and none are as informative or up to date as this one.
Enjoy !!!!!

Yea, this is a nice forum. Not the biggest I've ever seen though. Go check out the stats on Linuxquestions:
http://linuxquestions.org/questions/index.php
They're a little mean there sometimes, so I actualy recommend the Just linux forums more. I think they might also have the higher stats technically too:
http://www.justlinux.com/forum/index.php
But as for filesharing; yea, Zeropaid is great. They also do a good job with News and Program releases. Definatly worth a bookmark.

Welcome to the zoo Escape. If you have questions make sure you utilize the search function as many questions have been answered before. Other than that enjoy.

WOW! one user has more than 30,000 posts, now that is a person that has way too much time on their hands.
(I asked a question, they didn't like it and banned my IP, they are pretty mean there!!)

What the heck did you ask to get banned that quick? Hopefully you didn't mention any copyrighted stuff or anything...

I asked them "What programming language is Linux" and they said "Do not ask dumb questions"......
My question has still not been answered, what language is it based on..I googled it and nothing came up.

Linux is a free Unix-type operating system originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers around the world. Developed under the GNU General Public License.
There ya go straight from the Linux home page at www.linux.org
That was painless huh?

Yea, if they were feeling grouchy they would ban you for that. Linux is no a programming language, it is an Operating System. I run Linux instead of Windows. Go play around on Distrowatch for a while and you might start to get the picture:
http://www.distrowatch.com
And you can program just about any language you want on linux, most distros come with gcc, a great all around compiler. Linux is far from being a language itself.
If you want to give Linux a shot, go try out knoppix, you can just test it from a cd, and it generally works great. Here's the site:
http://www.knoppix.org/
Hope that clears things up some...

They sound like impatient types. lol
Perhaps your question was worded a bit incorrectly. I am thinking perhaps you meant what language is linux coded in?
Linux is not a language but a operating system and like all software it is coded and is not in itself a language.
Perhaps I also misunderstand you, but in fact that seems the problem. A slight misunderstanding and you don't really need those types anyway. lol
Welcome to the ZP news and zoo ;-)

He means what language(s) were used in the creation of the operating system.
Like what language was windows written in?
I don't know either, but i am assuming windows was written using more then one or perhaps proprietary code.

The Linux kernel is coded in C. Programs running on linux can be coded in many different languages such as C++, Python etc.

Truthfully I have never seen anyone banned outright from this place except by making 3 or 4 threads with names like Ban Me Sephiroth You Little Pissant and so on. People get a little snarky if you do crimes in public etc, but they just make you go back and delete the filename or whatever and life goes on. Try to avoid making threads that are useless (like picking a fight or duplicating another thread) and stick words you are interested in into the forum search box to see what's up before you get started talking and you will even be popular. Hang round 24/7 they will make you a moderator :)
PS: windows was written in Pascal first, then starting with 3.x all that stuff was ported to C++, NT was being developed in the background actually in C++ and modules of that began replacing the leftovers from the old kernel in 4.* (=win95) Everything new since then has been C++ and some related Java stuff for Explorer.

Actually I don't know if I have the right to do that yet...
I just got here myself...

From what I can see they are pretty lacsidasical...
No pretentious snobs yet...
Everyone is pretty free with the info...

TY aqlo. I assumed it was possibly C or C++ but was never sure.
Just shows how good of a language it is, being around for over 30 years.
