I'm havin' a problem wit my PF Usage. It's usin' a ridiculous amount right now....I have it set to 0 but it's still usin' 80+ mb of my ram. I've tried lookin' thru google & dun a few tweaks but nuttin is workin'...Any ideas peep's ?

the page file doesn't use ram, it uses disk space. and if you turn it off, then everything stays in ram, instead of being sent out to disk to keep windows with a happy amount of ram.

im not sure i understand what you are saying tho...

ok i think i understand.... you set your page file at 0MB, and now your ram is being used up? if thats the case, then you need to make a larger page file. if you have no page file, then everything stays in the RAM. btw, the page file is on your HDD, not in your ram.

"Nuttin" and "Workin" are accepted in english as abbreviations. Those words when spoken in such a manor can be considered "campy" or "playful"

you really don't want to set your page file at 0 unless you have an enormous amount of ram AND you know exactly what youre doing, and it seems to me you dont.

Some games and applications will simply refuse to work if you dont have a paging file.

Set your page file back to a normal size, roughly twice the size of your ram memory and leave it that way.

Okay guys...I appreciate very body who replied & I have found tha problem...It was nun other than PTC ! For sum reason I would check my memory & I'd have 386 free then I noticed when I started it it went down to 26..EEEK

I still don't get sumthin' tho... In XP when u ctr+alt+delete & look at performance my PF usage never has been above 4mb that I could see anywayz. Now it's currently usin' 144mb ?!
