View Full Version : Can't get connected to network in Shareaza

I am new at the p2p music sharing thing. I'm also new at using forums but I just joined now because I'm stuck.

I just installed Shareza 1.8.2.0. I 'think' it is all setup.

I then click on the connect button. Bottom of window says 'connecting to network...' but it just hangs and NEVER finishes. When I try doing a trivial search I get nothing.

How do I get connected to the network? Or what might be the problem? (time is 6:40pm central on 6/28/03)

One idea is to go to the website and try the new beta version.
It does work great for me. http://www.shareaza.com
I have had no trouble with that one. I can't wait for the new final to come out. hope that help's

Start Shareaza. Press F9. Right click on the window that just popped up; select 'add service.'

Paste http://g2cache.theg2.net/gwcache/lynnx.asp into the window, click okay.

Right click on the new entry; pick 'query now.'

Try to connect. Voila'

I'm glad you did. congrats. I still suggest that you upgrade from Shareaza 1820 to the new version 1890 1.9beta. It even in it's beta form works beta than the 1820 version.
