I have down loaded kazaa lite but can't figure out how to access any file sharing sites. I have clicked on about every icon I can find. I am new to this so if I sound computer challenged, I am. Thanks for your help.

Once KaZaA Lite is connected, hit the search tab, and enter what you are looking for.
I would not suggest searching under "Everything" as this will yield many unwanted results.
If you are looking for a song, search under audio, if you are looking for movies or video, search under video, so on and so forth.

Someone else will be along soon to give you a URL for instructions, take time to read them, as well as our Kazaa threads.
While you are still preparing . . . make sure that your PC is ready for the challenge too. Get organized, put things in folders, defrag your hard drive etc. THEN run Kazaa lite.
Make sure you have current antivirus definitions, I cant emphesize this enough, or you may as well take your computer to the street with a FREE sign on it.
Also, get Spybot Search & Destroy, it cleans your drive of spyware etc. Dont go hog wild, try to dl a few songs at a time, and get them finished. There are a number of functional reasons for doing this. If your PC pukes out etc, then note error messages and we will assist you.
Welcome to Zero Paid . . . be patient, and have fun.

Thats good advice Krell, but honestly, I do not think we will see him (or her) again.
We got so many of these odd one time posts and then never hear from the person again.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I can't find the page that Psilaxs posted so maybe I need to down load Kazaa lite again. A bit cynical aren't you Psilaxs? Thanks again. Dan (a he)

We prefer to call him "pragmatic" lol
avaitordan - we've seen em come and go thru here, and he's right on the face of it. I try to give people a chance, and if I can get you to do thing right from the get go, then its a better experience for all of us.
You need to see if you have Klite officially installed in the Add Remove Programs in Control Panel.

Welcome to ZP avaitordan.
With recent developments in music industry in the last two days things have bit a wierd here and Psilax's commnt is a reflectance of the general sitatuation we have had here. I would not take personally.
Try the re-install and lets us know what happens.

No offense taken. On the bright side, all the recent publicity is how I found this site. I think the music industry lawyers would call that the doctrine of unintended results. :-)

welcome to zeropaid avaitordan, you have already learned the first important lesson for success on these forums: ignore psilaxs...j/k
krell is on the money as usual when he tells you to upgrade your virus definitions, make sure you do this regularly, kazaa is laden with virsuses
a couple of things i find useful when searching in kazaa:
sometimes it IS useful to search under everything, for example when looking for software as this often comes in .zip or .rar files.
remember to use the speed up tool which you will find in your kazaa folder in program files. This searches for alternative download locations automatically and speeds up downloading.
Also - dont be a leech. filesharing depends on people sharing what they download so share as much as you can. Besides, people will cut you off if you are sharing nothing.
If you are interested in movies it is worth checking out www.fasttrackmovies.com which has verified links to lots of good movies. You will need to download sig2dat for the links to work.
There isnt much else to say really, if you get stuck use the search function on our forums, or failing that post again and we will be delighted to help you.
enjoy your filesharing.

I didn't mean anything by the comment i made, but if you spend some time here (and i hope you do) You will see what i mean.
We get a lot of people that come ask a question, get help and then we never hear from them again. *Sniff, we feel used*
I would do as Krell suggested, if you cannot find the search page something has gone seriously awry.
Oh, And Welcome to ZeroPaid.
*EDIT* LOL@ Grab_Grab
I would like to clarify what he means by "virus laden"
He is referring to the network itself, not the actual program ;).
So don't let that satement startle you.
And Sig2dat is included with the current K-Lite bundle (version of Kazaa lite)

Thank you for all your help Psilaxs. It must have been a problem with the first download. I was able to find the page you sent. Thanks again. I'm sure I will be back to ask more questions but at least they will hopefully be somewhat intelligent ones:-) Dan

No problem. But keep in mind, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
