Gotta love the people who say "I'm just against Bearshare"

They are such IDIOTS, have they even used the program? Bearshare is one of the most stable gnutella clients, if not the most stable. This is because they take their time and discuss new features with other developers, unlike Mike who went off on his own.

So stop trashing Bearshare, already IM SICK OF IT

Yeah, BearShare is stable, and it gets results...
but it costs money, like Opera. Now, I don't know about you, but I would choose Mozilla over Opera. It might crash a little more, but it's just as good and completely free.

This is because they take their time and discuss new features with other developers, unlike Mike who went off on his own.

Hahaha, do you get your news force-fed from Vinnie? Mike tried to play along with the GDF, but they were too slow and he left them behind. In fact, Mike introduced the queuing system found in all modern Gnutella clients.

It doesnt cost money. there is two verisons the free verisons with ads, and the pro verison which is a paying verison. If dont want adware then beta test.

Ashitaka if your going to flame which you have continously done here, on the gdf and etc then i will make good on that promise to ban you. Your facts are wrong too.

Split because it had nothing to do with "raza"

bearshare is shit!

Why? because it is gnutella! no matter how stable the client is, it will take forever to fing a song, and only a fraction of the download will go through.

hahaha! can't beleive some people actually waste time on this!

Ok dude..as much as I would agree with you, I cant

You know why?

If you find a song on bearshare and try and download it..you will most likely max out your connection

At least thats what I had when I downloaded about 5 songs off of BS while I had it for 10 minutes

Why is it that certain people, when met with a differing opinion, take it so goddamn personally? Opinions are like assholes, my friends.

Excuse my spelling

Bearshare is a ok client as i used to use it when it did not have any spyware and manage to get downloads the 2 bad things about bearshare are now the following

1.Spyware (No u Not spying on me)
2 Gentulla network sucks

if a lot of developers did not include spyware in there clients then maybe people would use it who wan't's 47 registery entries of spyware as Sharekazza contain new networks and no spyware this is why people use it :fire

So stop trashing Bearshare, already IM SICK OF IT If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.

If you don't want a variety of information read only things written by yourself.

If you think other developers are IDIOTS for telling you the truth about why they don't appreciate the baggage Vinnie keeps adding to what could have been a nice program, you're probably right.

Feel free to keep using Bearshare yourself, most of us found ways around the agent-ban that was placed on shareaza users months ago. A couple of particularly bright peeps are even claiming now to have found exploits in both the spyware and the whoreware versions of this program. As a result I am finding a lot of interesting garbage now that obviously comes originally from directories that weren't intended to be shared.

I mention these things not to further denigrate this already fully bad-mouthed software, but simply because it appears to annoy you.

Opinions are like assholes, so stop poking at mine

actually, BearShare is stable. Same stable as Gnotella was...
But what was Gnotella's destiny? Yes, it didnt develop. The same destiny i see in BS ;)
And BS betas are also unstable as the Raza betas are. Dont flame if you dont know what you are talking about.

What was implemented in BS since 4.2.4?
Lets check the changelog file:

The only useful feature: compressed traffic in beta 4.2.6

Every improvement was released as a new build. Every tweak was released as a new build.

Lets check what Shareaza did ... since beta 1.7

Beta 1.7:
- The Gnutella protocol has extended. Now Shareaza has the G2 support.
- Partitial File Sharing is now secure because of TTH support
- Media Player with advanced preview functions known from DivFix etc.
- Media Player 100% written from scratch.
- Proper Metadata support since beta 1.6
(bearshare still doesnt allow to change meta data)
- official release: stable
- Compressed traffic

Beta 1.8:
- SHA1 algorythmus updated
- GUI optimized
- ed2k support
- bittorrent support
- G2 optimized
- Beta 1.8.9.9: stable

So where is the development ;)
And what I'm still waiting for: Direct Chat function in BS. :devil

I like BS, but it only has a nice GUI and standard functions which had shareaza 1.6 had in summer 2002.
Use what you like, that just compared the both clients and their development speeds :cross

bearshare has the nicest gui of any p2p client i have seen, ever...

but it's on the worst network.

and from how much vinnie apparently trashed shareaza, we'll never see bearshare on g2.

which means, bearshare will be on a crappy network for a looong time :(

Exactly..

I would use Bearshare if it was on G2

Another thing, FreePeers is a company that has like 10+ developers working on bearshare..and what do you see in each god damn beta? A few litle bug fixes and tweaks to the program..I mean there was a beta with a changelog of "internal testing only"

Why can't they actually do what LimeWire does and make Gnutella good? LimeWire kicks ass and is the best G1 client ever..because they always make network improvements and have recently added PFS...where does bearshare do that?

I don't know. Bear Share is such a dissapointment to me. It has a nice interface, lots of users, and files, and is stable. Yet it lacks 1 major thing. Out of maybe 100 users only 5 will let u download, and only 3 will be fast. If Bear Share improved their technology i would use it.

After the current 4.3.0 beta cycle, 4.3.1+ will have PFS and Tiger Tree/THEX incorporated.

And also, the whole thing about vinnie and G2, lets not get started on that again.
