My guess is that the mp3 file is corrupted, any random mp3 with the same file name should fix it
But I think you allready know this....I'm talking to you in the DC hub :)
Browse the cd to find it, or see if you can get the mp3 from a friend

the problem is that i cannot find that or filename anywhere. i looked in the warcraft 3 directory, and did a search. but it's not there.

Well, we talked about it in the hub, here's what we found
-It does not exist on the HD, neither the mp3 or the dir
-The mp3 and dir do not exist on cd
Sockfulloflove is going to reinstall the game, patch it, then do something else to it which we can't talk about on this board.
If it doesn't work, I'm sure he would appreciate help, it would save him another 700meg download

forget it, i'm getting a different copy. think the one i had was corrupted, because during the re-installation, a map file was corrupted. this is an old copy that i probably forgot to check with ISO buster. anyways, thnx for those that helped. only less than 2 hours till i get my new copy. ;-)

This has nothing to do with your problem, but did you know that there's a new updated video driver at the Nvdia w/site?
Just thought i mentioned it, being you have a Nvdia card.

newer isnt always better... and if it aint broke.. dont fix it.
I'm starting to agree, they're becoming more and more bloated. Unless you have the Geforce FX, the 41.07 WHQL were the best IMO, and some of the even older ones were good to.
Whats with you and keeping posts? lol

Well it's just a music/ sound file so just replace it with something else, anything else...
A 1 second blank mp3 file should do the trick

PLEASE READ THIS POST BY ME:
"the problem is that i cannot find that folder or filename anywhere. i looked in the warcraft 3 directory, and did a search. but it's not there."
THANK YOU.
by the way, i fixed the problem by installing a fresh copy of the game, the other one was just corrupt. installed the new, put my backed up saved game files, and i started from where i left off. it's all good.
