napster kicked ass while it lasted! now you can only use it if u use napigator and it takes a while to find a server to connect to. winmx is the next best thing since napster was shut down. in the past few days, i have downloaded over 40 COMPLETE albumes off of it. Kazaa sux ass, because of all the phony files it has and all the virus's that swim around that program. direct connect is good for big files such as games, complete albums and other stuff. I CAN'T WAIT FOR WINMX 4.0

if the question is what is the all time greatest, then my answer is AG.

i now mostly use dc++, bittorrent, and soulseek.

Audiogalaxy was, far and away, the best ever!:fire I'm still sharing material that came from there.

Napster. Why?

Because without Napster many of us would never have got into P2P, and would still be being ripped off by the record labels. Yes, Kazaa was great in it's time. Yes, I know many people swore by AudioGalaxy. But Napster was the daddy. And it always will be.

napster was the best
morpheus/kazaa/fasttrack sucked always donkey's balls
donkey was always good
dc rocked also and still rocks
i never liked winmx, but it is very strong, waiting for version 4.0
gnutella was always good and gnutella2/shareaza is just my future :]

Napster got the ball rolling, but I think Audiogalaxy was the best.

I believe Napster was the best...but I never used it

I got into p2p as a n00b using Winmx recommended by my friend

I love winmx...although I wont use it until 4.0 comes out

Kazaa Lite or K++, because some hard to find items just aren't on eMule yet. Napster was good for mp3s only, though. Scour was one of the first to have resume features, but was shut down too soon in it's life.

Back in the day when I was only downloading music (was on 56k) Napster was definately the best of the choices given.

Napster was clearly the best, and after that it was Aimster.
I mean before it became Madster and you had to pay for it.
