I d/l'ed & installed the Zoom Media Player. I set my file extension associations for mpg & avi to play through Zoom, BUT every time I try to play a movie I get a warning notice:

"ActiveMovie Window: zplayer.exe - Enrty Point Not Found

The procedure entry point ?GetUnicodeStr@SimpleTextSubtitle@@QAEAVCString@@H _N@Z cound not be located in the dynamic link library vobsub.dll. [OK]"

I have to click on "[OK ]" about twenty times before a movie will play. Some times it says: "Zoom Player Floating point overflow/division by zero."

I'm using Windows 2KPro w/ Divix 3.11Alpha & 5.05 installed, as recommended by Zoom.

Can anyone help me out?

Cheers in advance.

Verify which version you use, 2.9, 3.0, and if the movie you refer to has subtitles or not.

Clarify that you get this on all media, and not just one that you tried. Was this an avi, Mpeg, or VCD, DVD?

Krell,

I'm using version the std version 3.00, no subtitles as far as I know (Do you mean DVD subtitles? If so, I haven't tried to play any DVD's -can't anyway w/ std version). The problem occurs on all mp3's, avi's & mpg's which I've tried playing. I've even tested wmv's & asf's now & have exactly the same problem. They all play eventually, but it takes allota clickin'.

Cheers,

ETM

I used to use Zoomplayer. Its a great player, but for some reason it would corrupt my fonts. (I use a font called Mead Bold as my default font, could have something to do with it) I would wind up having to do a System Restore after using it quite often. A strange but annoying problem. Other than that it was an excellent player.

I switched to Light Alloy Player. (http://video.softella.com/la/en/about/) It is also a great player that plays all types of files and has a lot of nice extra features as well. (it has a nag screen on the free version, but that should be no problem for most of us )

AAAAARRRRGGGGGG!

Well, I downloaded that Light Alloy Player, but I get the same problem!!!! So, I guess it must be problem with windows. "£$%"£%:£%#!~£% Bill Gates. This is actually my brother's computer, complete with literally hundreds of different applications, so there must be some type of conflict (maybe WMP9?). Oh bugger.

why don't you just open your media player, be it zoom or whatever you choose, first. Then either drag the file into it or use file /open?

I think it is incorrectly registered.

First verify that you actually HAVE the vobsub.dll on your PC, search for it. If it IS there, rename it to vobsub.old

The following is an app that should both supply a good copy and register it for you in one step. I'm sure there are other ways, such as reinstalling the WMP9 codec pack, so you may also try that.

http://www.gabest.org/downloads/DVobSub_2.23.exe

Also try resetting your associations back to WMP9, in the Tools Options.

Sorry about the dely in replying - the server kept retting the connection!

Wahoo!

Problem solved thanx to Krell!

For the recored. Dragging & dropping made no difference. Renaming the dll caused a similar "path to x...invalid" error. It was ultimately Krell's littlle exe which somehow did the trick. Just goes to prove that dll's can still cause more than a few problems.

Cheers Krell.

Thanx to the other contributors at the same time.

Adios.

(Back to bed - just woke up to reconnect my downloads.)

EDIT: Actually just arrived back from work.
