OpenNapster, Gnutella and FastTrack protocoles are ok, but still AG had more music then all these networks have now altogether. And none of them has queue system which was so cool in AG.
Maybe silly question: Has anybody thought of cracking AG protocol and establishing new audiogalaxy.com site outside USA where RIAA can't reach it? I know it wouldn't be easy since huge database system and fast connection to internet are needed to run such a site but there should be lot of folks willing to pay for access to AG and money to be made on this

AG was the best site for file sharing. i don't have the resources to crack into the network, but i would be willing to donate to the cause.

It's not so much that the network was so great, it was just that so many people used it and shared their songs. There are tons of p2p networks, just take your pick - they are all pretty much equal. What makes the difference is the people that use the networks!

There are so many new protocols in development but there are pros and cons about them. I still missed AG and napster. Their protocols are great. I think in future years, developers will reuse AG protocols, improve it and make a AG like client but decentralized. In this way, Riaa can shut it down, cos, there are no servers to shut down.

I just read mediaseek.pl will try and be back online next week. They were becoming the next audiogalaxy and had to shut down and they could not handle the influx of new people right after audiogalaxy went down.

check it our sometime next week or so....

Peace!

They're taking their time about it though, especially considering they've already got the project up and running, still.. hopefully it'll be a case of "best things come to those who wait"! - but for some weird reason i'm sceptical about mediaseek relaunching in a hurry.

I dunno AudioGalaxy was the best but hell, I still find everything on Blubster *shrugs* Maybe I'm just lucky.

i have mediaseek but it needs lots of time to grow more users. when i go on in most of the songs u can't download because there's barely any users online to download from.
