WMP 9 Error

I have had WMP9 since it came out, without problem............just yesterday when I tried to play a file I got an error message when I clicked on the WMP9 icon......it read:
Windows Media Player 9
A internal application error has occured.
Now I get that error every time I click the icon. The theater in K++ (WMP) works fine still, but I personally prefer WMP9, so I would like this problem to be fixed.........I already tried re-installing WMP 9 without success (the exact same error appeared)................what to do now?

Did you also check the details on that error message, sometimes tht may help to find the problem. Or, someone knowledgable like krell can help.

yes, if there is anything specific in the error...that would be great to know.

no other details are there..............just the message i said, an 'OK' button, and a little yellow exclamation point (warning sign)
