Ok so we all know the strained relationship of Tech companies to Recording industry. Most of us should know by now there is Legislation in the US right now that would require all products to have anti piracy protection. AS i have mentioned before we should start a petition to stop this legislation from being put into action. It might also seem we could have some legit backing

" More controversially, the executives noted that many consumers have expectations about "fair use" of entertainment products that include sharing music or other products with others. Those consumer beliefs must be part of any discussion, the executives said"

Could Tech companies provide a backbone for consumer advocacy? If this law goes into action they have just as much to lose. We'dprolly also seea rise in imported Computers in the US that doesn't have such restrictions. Does anyone else see a possibility of teaming up with tech companies for consumer rights?

Many allready are.. Its safe to say that all of the P2P companies are for P2P and other tech companies that dont make p2p programs have gotten involved also.

These companies are important because they do almost all of the innovations and advances to P2P, and they are the ones that are coming up with more applicaions of p2p other than just file sharing. They are a good thing but some in the p2p community dont think so and think believe in the voodoo reminiscent of the idea that started in the napster community of "everything must be free.." Thinking that will "save p2p" but it wont and ultimatelly hurts the people who do most the work.
