recording something from the radio (not online radio) to computer

can anybody help me out on how to go about doing this?

get a double sided head jack. place one end into the head fones jack on your radio, then put the other end into the input jack on your sound kard. use your favoratave mp3 or wav encoding softwars such as cool edit or goldwave to record from the input on you sound kard
