Why doesn't anyone like gorphon? Is that a joke or serious?
I've always liked all the mods. I think they all have their own good distinctions. I guess I don't really have a favorite or anything like that.
Krell and Sephiroth are good for their promptness to deal with situations
Hunter and Crazy Horse seem to me to be the most mature members here, and can usually always calm people down and add a side to an issue that other people often times overlook.
Rickio, wiggum, and gorphon always seemed layed back to me and just made sure things never went to far. They're not as fierce as others and think they do well to balance out like Krell and Sephiroth.
If there are any other mods than these, I don't know who they are.
I think the mods here generally do a great job and should all be respected. They don't make everyone happy, nor should they. But they do a job well done.

I really can't choose a best/favorite mod. I feel that all the mods contribute in their own way. Rickio is probably the most even tempered with the ability to steer threads back to what they should be about. Crazy Horse is more like the spirit of ZP spreading karma and good vibes. Krell is the tech guy that always has an answer (even if it's not what you wanted to hear...LOL). Hunter is just the good guy that everyone likes because he is a real person who is helpful without having a big head. CCSDude, when he was a mod, represented the brashness and sometime off color humor of the site. Gorphon strikes me as the activist of the group who isn't afraid to come off the fence and let his beliefs known irregardless of the consequences. And, finally, Seph is the babysitter who keeps everyone in line and plays the bad guy even though what he does is for your best interests. Zeropaid is made up of many different types of people and it takes mods from every walk of life to represent the divergent cast of clowns here, They all serve a role here and to pick one over the other only diminishes that.

You all knew that eventually this thread would take a turn for the worse, but did you expect me to be the one doing so?
To define the best mod, we must first analyze the word moderate; this is what the mods are here to do. I have highlighted the parts of the definition that are especially applicable to moderation in this forum:
mod·er·ate
adj.
1. Being within reasonable limits; not excessive or extreme: a moderate price.
2. Not violent or subject to extremes; mild or calm; temperate: a moderate climate.
4. Opposed to radical or extreme views or measures, especially in politics or religion.
n.
One who holds or champions moderate views or opinions, especially in politics or religion.
v. tr.
1. To lessen the violence, severity, or extremeness of.
2. To preside over: She was chosen to moderate the convention.
v. intr.
1. To become less violent, severe, or extreme; abate.
2. To act as a moderator.
Basically, it seems that a moderator is here to preside over the chat and lessen the extremeness of the forums.
If you take moderate to mean that you do little, Gorphon is the best moderator. I am always impressed that this mindless simpleton is able to turn on his computer, let alone become a moderator on this site. His moderation style could be characterized as laissez faire, but a more appropriate description would be non-existent. I didn't even know that Gorph was a mod for several months after his appointment, and am still yet to see any sign of his input, positive or negative.
I am sad that Grab did not include Gorphon in the possible contenders for favorite mod as he would have been the "special" contender, just there due to his being an incorrigible fucktard that somehow is able to tie his shoes in the morning. Just a throwaway choice that focuses our view on the true contenders.
Between the "real" mods that actually do something, the choice of best mod is difficult.
Hunter is a burly "man's man" who I liked better with his Gauntlet avatar as opposed to the current Doom style. He is all right in my book, but his footprint is light (as well it should be, you wouldn't want to be tracked in real life) for contention in the fav. moderator category.
Krell is the mod that cares the most about the site. He puts real time and effort into the way that it is run. This is evident in the messages that he gives people when he closes their threads. I can see his sworn office as a mod weighs heavily upon his conscience. Krell is knowledgable, but does he truly define the office of moderator?
Crazy Horse is neither Crazy nor a horse. Crazy horse is too nice of a guy to be the favorite mod. He is always mature in his exercising of moderation responsibilities, he should be as he is a self described old fart.
Rickio is an excellent mod, but has moments of self-doubt caused by his intense introspection that cloud his vision. This lack of decisiveness about his role as a moderator coupled with his intense love-hate relationship with this site and its diverse membership take him out of contention as the best mod.
Wiggum, Matt, Ryoko, MusicMan who? As if they are even contenders since they show up at inopportune times and say that they are mods even if they are absentee mods at best. At worst, they are a destructive force that is in wait to be loosed upon this site.
EvilMegaMan is 13, so I give him the honorary best junior mod award for being mature and not moderating with a heavy hand; watching the senior members and exercising caution when meddling in this clusterfuck out of all people's control.
Seeing the above definition, I choose Sephiroth as the best moderator at Zeropaid. He personifies the best traits of the definition and is the most visible of the moderators.
Sephiroth has many special traits that make him my favorite mod:
1) Sephiroth has the most common ineternet name available. I dare you (DARE YOU) to find a BBS or forum on the internet that does not have a Sephiroth as a member. If you went to the Betty Crocker recipe-sharing forum, I promise you that there is a Sephiroth as one of the first members.
2) Sephiroth is tenacious as a motherfuck. Sephiroth will never back down from his position, even if he is wrong. I admire this in a person. Others may say that this is inflexible and that listening to others and changing in response is the best way to grow as an individual, but this is not the case if you are always right.
3) Sephiroth backs away from the less is more philosophy that many take in moderation; instilling his own opinion into his moderation. This shows that he is a person, not just a blind follower of the rules. Some may say that a mod should hold moderate views when moderating in order to be seen as fair and impartial, but Seph shows that he can both of these even though he uses highly emotive language while laying down the law.
Congrats moderators on being such a fun band of people! I enjoy all of you for your unique views on the world and diverse styles of moderation.
Remember, this post is just in fun and not serious... If anything is out of order, feel free to PM me and I will change it. Just remember that this is satire and a roast. Aren't Roasts fun? If you are roasted, it just means that we like you... really.

I think that this poll is stupid, insofaras one could only vote for one moderator. That is my word for today. Stupid. That's why I used it in reference to this poll, because
1. it's my word for today AND
2. because this poll is stupid, because grab_grab could have opted to allow multiple votes.
Now that I have said that I think this poll is stupid (that's right, stupid) I want to thank wingnut2600 for his in-depth, well thought-out psychoanalysis of the radical and existential ramifications of this poll. Despite the fact I think the poll itself is stupid, thumbs up to wingnut for taking the time to construct his reply. If I didn't think the poll were stupid, I would have likely taken more time to craft a more detailed response, but I won't because of my long-standing practice to not throw pearls before swine or, attempt to introduce rationality to stupidity. Rationality never stands a chance, as evidenced by events as momentous as current world events or items as mundane as this stupid poll.
And I'm not telling anyone who I voted for. It's none of your damn business. I think all our mods generally do a good job, they generally complement each other, and each of them put their pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us here. This was a stupid poll to begin with, and I refuse to add insult to injury by increasing the level of competition by announcing who I voted for. Secret ballots rule!!!
Plus Gorphon wasn't even an option...
edit: And no stupid vB code in the subject line...I'll file that one under "stupid things to remember when posting on ZP," like the stupid 190 second rule.

This is the truth... it is all in fun. I would not want you to take this light-hearted post seriously, as I hope that no one else does. If nothing else, it shows that I care about all the mods since I know so much about them. This is just a roast, and I thought that it was fitting with such an absurd thread here. Whoever made this thread must be an absolute ass (as you can see, sarcasm does not get transferred well in the written word).

It's not right to pick favorites, but I find that each of them contributes equally in thier unique way.
I think it's great how they are willing to help people the instant that they ask for it, and keep this place somewhat sane, without falling into complete anarchy.
There were a couple of threads, I feel that didn't need to be closed, (one of them would have been beneficial to keep open) but I won't bitch about it, because the overall quality of this site is primo, and I feel that all of the above are doing a great job.

I like the way Krell has refrained from posting in this thread, he's too self-assured to do so.
Imperturbable Rickio is so laid-back he surfs the net horizontally with a plasma screen on his ceiling.
And I like Seph becuase he's a real tight-ass, impenetrable. Whenever somebody criticises him it's like water off a duck's back. Insults bounce off him like ping-pong balls, even though people try their hardest to dent his ego, that I've just inflated a little.

I think your overreacting a little bit. Is it really worth getting all worked up and upset over being "politically correct?"
I dont care about this poll. Being a moderator isnt a popularity contest to me.

This is no longer a popularity contest. I have definitively proven that you, Sephiroth, are the best moderator at Zeropaid, as well as my favorite.
Who here has not seen the Charlie Brown Special in which he goes to the Spelling Bee and sings this immortal song, "'I' before 'E' except after 'C' except in special words like 'either,' and 'neither?'" I love that song, it comes in handy in life, with Snoopy playing the mouth harp in my head. A brief aside, my favorite character class in AD&D is the "Thief."

No...I really like Rickio because he always keeps his cool and responds to threads in a positive way...
No matter if there is flaming, cursing, or just a fun thread that people destroy....he is always posting with stuff to calm some of you down...

When was gorphon added to this poll?

Yeah, what gives with Gorphon being added at this late hour? Most anyone interested in this question voted already.
Vote early and often, I say. Unless you live in Florida. Then don't bother--if it turns out your vote would matter we'll just get the Supreme Court to throw it out.

ermm... you know me. a day late and a dollar short! or rather, make that 3 days late... I demand a recount!
and I live in palm beach county ctc command...it was a nuthouse here for awhile during the elections. you mighta seen me on the telly if you watch any of the spanish language stations... I was the one guy in the median (with a crowd of democrats on my left and a horde of republicans on the right) all by myself and protesting for medicinal marijuana.
it was fun. and eventually, some people from each side even joined me.
edit: only on spanish channels because they were the only ones who would come near me for some reason or another.

Gorphon was just added to the poll to make him look like a fool!
Here's hoping he goes the way of the British Eurovision entry and gets nil points" (thats French for 'none')
anyway, on the subect of mods, cant you just imagine the ZP mods sitting down once a week for a weekly briefing from Krell where they discuss who the trouble makers are, who needs to be slapped down, talk about what newbies are impressing them, then they all slap each other on the back and say how great they are? I can.

It's too bad Gorphon was added that late because as CTC said, most regulars had already voted. I probably would have voted the same as I did, but he deserved a fair shake.

I didnt vote for anybody because all of the current mods suck. I hate them all and they are all causing the demise of zeropaid. Yep, zeropaid is doomed under their control but you know what would turn this place around, some new mods. I think the following would make way better mods:
Yodashady
Zeropain
Skorchie
Monyak
And of course I would take Jorge's place.:aim

Who is this imbécile? (That's French for 'fool.') Actually what I can imagine skankho is that you have to stay up really really late at night to come up with such witty repartee. If I were even half the wag you think you are, I think I'd have to go jump in a dumpster and slit my wrists.
But that's only a suggestion.:devil

Obviously Stankho is Hillary Rosen. She is just here to confuse filesharers and cause us to stop using the internet out of fear of random, senseless irritation.
Damn these RIAA members and their nefarious methods to stop file-sharing!

Listen up Wangnuts69. I have not, have never been, and have no intention of ever being Hilary Rosen.
CTC, I am writing this at 10.45am, so your accusation that I can only furnish the boards with such witty repartee late at night is sorely off the mark. I havent even had breakfast yet, buddy!
