He's not talking about the other post skank. Long time members of this board remember StreamOg from his days when he was shoveling this crap. He was trying to scare ZP members to sign up with him by claiming that P2P was on it's last leg and were about to be shut down and this would be a way to legally share files and make money by doing it. However, every time someone would ask him valid questions about this he would either flame them, patronize them like little children, or just claim that they don't get it. Finally when the majority of people saw through his crap he just stopped posting period and left everybody hanging. Wasn't buying it then Chris, and I'm still not buying it now.

What I quickly gathered sounds good to me. Sounds by the news the wheels are starting to turn in a positive direction but I could be wrong. Just my thoughts.:bling

Mojo,
Your summary of what my proposal was in both factually incorrect and and a bit to dramatic given it's just a board.
It was a trend which we proposed a long time ahead of the curve.
By they way who is Chris?

So a new version of Kazaa soon huh? Hears it would have no spyware but still altnet as its considered adware (samefreakinthing). So altnet is finally really going functional or optional now?

Indeed my friend, it appears to be a close knit community. Perhaps if we prove our worth in our future posts though they can let us in on the joke this thread is referring to?

From altnet themselves:
"The Peer Points Manager meters gold icon TopSearch file uploads and compensates participants for the use of their resources, enabling them to directly redeem prizes or enter a sweepstakes for cash or prizes. Prizes range from Plasma TVs to MP3 Players to Sony Walkmans to concert tickets, flight discounts, clothing, DVDs and more."
I can picture idiots everywhere boasting on how they won their new plasma TV while file sharing, using Kazaa, on the monday night news.

Yes, but where will everypone get their dosage of porn?
Underground p2p of course.
The "legit" p2p apps are too hoity toity to stock porn.

Great... StreamOG, a guy from ESV... I don't think this thread is gonna be pretty.
Perhaps the mods should nip this one in the bud?

The point here being that I have no idea what Mojo is so upset about. It was a concept to make people money that File Share. Obviously AltNet thought it was a good idea. They are pulling in $300,000.00 a month of PPV Gold Icons in Kazaa.

Big deal. This announcement means very little. So altnet are going to pay a select few people for hosting verified (legal) files. So what? I dont see how that impacts on downloading of the latest music, warez etc.
Kazaa sucks anyway.

If you think I'm upset, then you really don't know me at all. I presented my views which I'm sure other long time posters can attest to not as a flame but rather as more of a fact finding mission. I was interested in real answers about your ideal and when I and others asked valid questions you turned our words around. When you wouldn't or couldn't answer the questions, that told me you were someone to steer clear of. As far as Altnet goes, I could care less how much they spend. It doesn't affect my life in anyway whatsoever. If people want to get involved in this, they will and that's that.

an oldie but goody....ahhhh, those were the days mojo. and I would reccomend that no one click that link without a lot of time on their hands and an ability to sift through massive amounts of BS interspersed with genuine questions and a little debate.
I just reread the above....and Im gonna leave that statement as is- everyone will draw their own conclusions just as we did no doubt.
as far as altnet goes.... they will make money off the uninformed with this Im sure. no doubt this is their intent.

and my point was that we had a program ready to make people money using P2P legally in a non-invasive and legitimate fashion.
however there were some people that said no and the idea was shelved. No biggie.
That was $300,000 a month they are making Mojo not spending but again you aren't interested. moving on.

it's great
as long as you don't mind being billy gates' schill, pimping drm to the ignorant masses
what price does a soul go for these days? how many crap drm files do you have to waste your 50$ a month bandwidth on to get a walkman or plasma tv? just save your money kids, you'll get a plasma tv a lot faster

Notbob I guess I don't understand why your being so negative given that any ZP member can make up their own mind for themselves. When I last checked that was one of the guidelines around here. It's just another way to make some money. Let's all take a deep breath. :)

just callin' 'em as i see 'em
remember camel cash and marlboro miles? buy 10,000 $ in cigarettes and get this cool jacket? this is the same thing only you waste thousands of dollars in bandwidth in the hope that the guy sending your 1000$ t-shirt doesn't get shut down.

i wouldn't waste my bandwidth for altnet even if the did pay me, unless you want to set up a server for this one cause there is no point.
