Actually, in some other countries, music sales has increased.
The UK market is about the only market that is still showing increases in music sales. Globally, it is in huge decline and p2p is a major reason for this, IMO.

I think the REAL reason is that the teenagers who have dominated the music industry for the past five years are FINALLY running out of pocket money, or growing up.
Or hell, maybe they're just getting confused... All these new bands/starlets look and sound exactly the same...
