TOYOTA!!!!
(and the other option is nissan not nissian).
I really think that Jaguar and Cadillac are the best car's makers too.

Why is Seat not on the list - I drive a M-reg Seat Ibiza, surely the best car in the world!?! lol
You have to buy Japanesse or German really, perhaps French because they have the best adverts. As for choosing from the list:
I have no idea what a "Chevy" is, although I believe you need to drive it to the levy (which is dry). Since I don't know what they look like, they can't be good.
The only dodge car I know is the Viper, but don't know if it is any good.
Nissan = Micra, so can't win
Ford = Fiesta, so can't win
Don't know what Crysler cars are like, but since they are so desperate for a younger buyers that they allowed their cars to be smashed up on the Matrix - they can't be good.
This leaves the only option of Mazda - which are good because their advert goes "zoom zoom zoom".
Thats my professional judgement.

It'd be cool if there were more options... then it could be like.. Ford, Chevy, maybe Pontiac, Chrysler, Nissan, VW, Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi... those are the bigger ones aren't they? I know there can' be that many options, I'm just saying that'd be neat.
Or maybe one for American cars, and one for foreign... like... Ford, Chevy, Chrysler... and... Honda, Nissan, Toyota, VW... or... I'll shut up.
Wait. The Nissan Skyline was mentioned. What a kickass car... : )

trouble is they don't sell chevys over here.
anyway, my wee rover metro would kick your seat's arse, morris, and you know it! ;)

May 29th, 2003, 04:16 PM
lol@mrlipring - you would not believe the number of times I've raced those metros round an abandoned airfield near me, but that was in the days of my E-reg Polo! E-reg Polo against a D-reg metro - it was like leMans! I love the way metros always sound like they a reversing. Fantastic student car - with the way their CAM belts keep coming off, seems to add character!
I just looked up the corvette. It was on topgear last week. They had a sports car from each country - the corvette was Americas contribution (this wasn't a serious race - they were making a point about something else). They describe the Corvette as the closest thing America has come to making a sports car, as American suspension is always soft as you don't have corners. It reminds me of a Faulty Towers episode:
American arriving at hotel, "Couldn't find the highway. Had to use a back route called the M1"
Mr Faulty (Hotel Owner): "Well, British cars have steering wheels"
(M1 is a major motorway)
Ah, so funny.
I would even this reply out by telling you the English contribution to the race, but that would swing it the other way!
(the German Porsch won the first race, then the british cheated to win the second)

I like Toyota. If you want a car that gets good mileage and is super reliable, get something like a Camry (or a Corolla). My uncle and I both have one and they've never given us any problems. They won't win any races though.

Very practicle of you. I personnally don't like the old style Corolla, its typical japannesse trying to look good. The new style looks almost like it could have been done by an italian. Hopefully not with Italian reliability!

most companies have their stand out cars, just look at the cars you can get in a game like Gran Turismo or Sega GT 2003. They all have their good points, and it depends on what you want to do with it. American cars are good at drag racing but can't take turns worth crap (unless it's a BIG left turn). European cars rule World rally racing. Japanese cars are for the high-tech weight/hp ratio fans, and so on.

Volvo!!!
Technically they're owned by Ford now, but they still make a safe, reliable car. I have over 100,000 miles on it and still only go in for regular matenence.

I would normally vote for Honda, but since that isn't on the list, I'll vote for Nissan since I own a 1997 200 SX. Japan is pretty much the only manufacturer I would ever touch, that or Germany. I love America, but damn, we make some suck ass cars that you have to repair and sink money into all the time, especially Chrysler. They may get better if they can get more parts from Daimler.

My standouts would be:
Honda
Civic
S2000
Mazda
RX8
Miata
Toyota
Supra
Mitsubishi
Elcipse Spyder
Nissan
350 Z
Titan (When It Comes Out)
Subaru
Impreza WRX
Chrysler
Crossfire
Hummer
Hummer H1 (Don't like the H2 as much, looks like a little girl's mobile compared to the H1, after all, the H1 is used by the US army)
Ford
Thunderbird
Chevy
SSR (Interesting Design)
Dodge
Viper (Even though to me they're overhyped)
BMW
Z4
Mini
Mini Cooper S
Here are a few companies I really don't care about: Bentley, Rolls Royce, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki, Isuzu and Jeep.

Well as a past (10 years) Foreign Car mechanic I can only reccomend the Toyota or maybe the Nissan. But Honda is missing from the list and it has probably the best repair record next to the Toyota. And all this talk about Mini's I also got the priviledge(or aggrevation) of working on a Mini Cooper race car called the Fortech Mini.

Well for those only in the poll, i would have to say Dodge is the best.
Dodge has some nice pickups and there becoming pretty popular since they are a lower price than chevrolet.
My friend has the 3500 series with dual wheels and everything you can possibly think of is on the truck. For example, he has the lights, the fog lights, the mirrors on the hood for pulling trailers, and a nice maroon color with a diesel engine that would last forever. Very nice truck, but gas guzzler, plus very heavy truck. I wouldn't want to be in an accident with him, he'll crush every damn car on the road.
But other than dodge, i will go with Chevrolet all the way. I don't have to explain my favorite chevy pickup truck, cause its in my sig. The same exact one.

So I'll go with Chevy, but only if it's a souped up Camaro.
So far as reliability is concrned, I like Toyotas. You know those raised medians that separate the sides of roads? I had just finished taking a pet dog that had just died down to animal control. I was on the way home, and I was a bit blubbery, and I took the Toyota onto one of those, and it skidded a full 30 yards, scraping along that median, with the tires not even touching the ground (!). And...no problem, car's been working fine since then, three years now. That would have toasted any car I ever heard of, but not this Toyota (2000 Corolla). Freakin' amazing!
Stellar

Lets put it this way.
Ford is trash, everyone who i know that owns a ford is now kicking themselves for bein stupid.
Imports rock. My 1990 Nissan 240SX is still goin strong, all ive had to do so far was replace a worn gasket.
I like all japannese imports, but nissan is the bomb

Since I have decided to no longer be a troll, I have decided that this is a good category for me to post in. I was going to start one about favorite type of van, but this was already here.
GMC vehicles are the best. I am not biased being a GMC vehicle. Over the years, my body pasrts have been swapped out so much, I don't think there is anything original and I am no longer just GMC. My engine is also custom, so i am not really GMC at all.
GMC rules. They are indestructible and awesome.
