I AM DOWNLOADING MOVIES AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GET THE PICTURE. IS ALL I GET IS THE SOUNDTRACK AND A KALIDASCOPE OF COLOURS. IT ASKS FOR A CODEC WHICH I HAVENT GOT.. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN GET AROUND THIS ANOYING PROBLEM

Look at your keyboard. See all the pretty keys? Good. Look for one that says "caps lock". Push that once for me. Thank you.
Now, the Klite codec pack should provide you with what you need.

EDIT: Also, if by some odd chance the codec pack does not contain the codec(s) you need, or if you don't wan't this codec pack, you can use GSPOT (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) to tell you specifics of this file (codec information, framerate, and such).
I recommend getting this little tool either way. Its valuable.

you could have mentioned the file extension (avi asf .....)
