when backing up my CDs I use clony XL and cloneCD
Clony reads the disc and sets up the settings on clone CD automatically.
All worked fine on Win ME but when I installed WinXP the clony prog will not run. I checked on the clone CD site which recommended I d/l a file called force ASPI. This has not worked either. Any help would be greatfully accepted as I dont know which settings to use on Clone CD. These were previously set up for me by clony

and when everybody tells me that windows xp is perfect, i just smile and nod... bc i know i can burn a cd on osx. without this bullshit.
clonecd was always best used for me as trial and error... copying one cd meant using one setting, and copying another cd meant a different setting.
i have never heard of the clony thing, but for clonecd, jsut mess with the settings until you find something that works.

I have faced 3 problems with XP ever........
1. search companion file not found
2. JAVA
3. ASPI
copy paste this file in system and system32 folder..........
Please create a backup of existing file if any........(just cut it from there and paste it ins ome other folder for time being)
hope it works.........
PS: exe contains a dll file call wnaspi32.dll, and remove force aspi file for this one to work.

That's why you should use a protection detection prog and use settings specific to that protection.

i stopped using clonecd bc i had to give the cd i was trying to copy, back to its 'rightful' owner. lol

nero also has a aspi that works well for many people.
its available at their website.
force aspi should have worked though, it's considered quite reliable.
