Hey I have a question about pirated windows xp. I've heard about microsoft stopping your pirated xp from loading after so long from using xp, will this happen if you disable windows update? or does that only happen when you try to download the Service pack 1(when it comes out)?

It’s in regards to the SP1 release. Microsoft checks your key against a database of known "wild" keys and if it is on the list then......no update.

If you need the work around let me know, i will email it to you. it has worked for me but not for some others.

So if you have pirated xp does microsoft force you to download the service pack 1? and if they don't can you still use xp without having to update it?

you are not forced to download it. the update is like any other update you can select it or not. And you can continue to use XP and download the regular updates. i beleave (dont quote me this is Microsoft here) it is only the Service packs that you have to have a "real" copy for.

You guys best learn how to use the internet and search engines. I could tell you what you want to know but it would not help you, as you obviously would have more questions.
You need to read and learn and I am not putting you down just giving advice, because zeropaid and any other forum can get in serious trouble is we blatantly post to much information on certain subjects. Not that they will be prosecuted but all of a sudden no one will host the website. Do you understand this.

But I am a believer in sharing information.

If I were you I would search good with keywords related to your questions. Browse through forums and use the search capability in the forums.

Some people use edonkey and browse sharereactor.com's forums to learn things. ;-p

Chill man, no one on Zeropaid posts keys or cracks or direct downloads to copywrited material or anything. The forums are moderated good and if the wrong queation is asked it is usually cut. No ones done anything but ask advice, and there is no use for the forum if you can’t ask for advice. What people do with that advice is there own doing and their own consequence.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

=-)

I was replying to the newbies and trying to encourage them to learn how to use the net.
I always share what ever I can and if you noticed I answered their question, if you notice the hints.
I also was couching my reply because I have noted a few others here who get all tense when info is shared and to also make it very clear.

More hints.

search for bluelist keygen

is that sharing? ;-)

yeah it did sound like a bark :-p

I had just finished reading some lame posts and was reacting to that I think. I think you know what I mean how some people left unmentioned like to talk stuff after we share info with each other.

I best forget that and just keep on keeping on.......

yeah, but if windows xp is anything like office xp, all of the updates after SP1 are tailored to SP1 people. so if you haven't installed SP1, then you're out of luck for updates.

IRC can give lots of answers, try it out. It's kinda annoying to use, but if you have a little bit of patience, and know how to talk, then you'll get any information you want from IRC networks.

Check out

http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dType=guide&dId=350&dPage=1

-this'll be the beastie you're after.

It will let you change your Windows Key if you've accidently typed in the Devils own key instead of your valid one:shy allowing you to update to SP1

anyone screwed by actually being unfortunate enough to have the devils own key legitimately?

okay, had random lockups in XP and occasional reboots when trying to run some self extracting files (though these were fine if unzipped maunally!) since I don't know when......

I changed my Key to let me install SP1 (I had the devils own key as I'm at uni and the XP cd was brought with me in the drive, hence no case -I left it at home :mellow and I had to re-install to reset a mangled OS). Anyway, this totally cured my problem.

WTF?

Now i'm not the first one to cry conspiracy, but this is ridiculous! I haven't even installed SP1 yet!

No you should be fine with Win2k.

Anyone who is dumb enough to use a pirated OS gets IMHO what they deserve.. If you dont want to pay for a OS then go get Red Hat or something and WINE...

Maybe I should follow the crowd more, this is such an interesting topic, I have no hands on experience of XP Service Pack 1 and how it relates to (ahem) cut price (cough) copies of XP.

Don't want it, didn't really add anything to XP from the review I read.

Only thing that concerned me was that killer help centre URL that wipes directories, which I believe gets repaired with SP1.

Being able to wipe your HD from an explorer address is pretty serious - one hyperlink away from misery.

Anyway I fixed that by hand.

Thanks to the AOL hater for posting info on this.

XP vs 2000 is all about DirectX8 support isn't it? i.e. No games for 2000 people, who should be writing SQL statements according to MS, and not being silly.

Question, how did MS find out about illegal copies of XP. It must be spying on us! If it has a database of illegal copies, it must have detected simultaneous instances, therefore your license number is communicated to them, sneakily.
