If we could put these 'droids in the ring, who would win?

There's more robots in the pic below than in the poll, each one "coulda been a contender..." if there were more than five choices in the poll. Who are the other 'bots, and would they whoop ass, or get trashed? Scenarios? Odds in Vegas?

Now we got a problem, where the ---- is the Krell bot? There could be grave consequences for this omission.

I'd have to bet on Mechagodzilla (http://www.stomptokyo.com/godzillatemple/movie14.htm) of Godzilla fame. He'd stomp those putz's.

I knew that I'd forget some--there are just too many robots in the world to get all of them on just one "Robot Wars" show. But Hunter, you're right, and I'm taking care of that omission right now.
So in Episode II we could have Terminator, XR, Thundercleese, Servo, Gypsy and Crow against Krell...and Cheapprick, we can put Mechagodzilla up against

MechaStriesand!

Bender! he's got the aditude, and the brute force to match! well... krell MIGHT be able to beat him, but no one else!

I'll take R2 in Episode I. The force is too strong within him to let any of those other dorky bots defeat him, though bender will be a tough out.

Krell vs T2 is the key matchup in Episode II.

K, Data is so much stronger than any of those, except Krell.

This isn't anything personal against krell, but why are you all sucking up so much? I find it very lame.

You havent been here long enough, it is an inside joke, see Krell isnt quite human. He is part machine part creature, so he is a very tough guy, Plus he is over 400 years old lol

Hmmm, not surprising that Bender has taken the lead. He can, as Isus has pointed out, bend stuff. I am somewhat surprised though, that none of our fellow filesharers from across the pond have voted for the Daleks, since they do "EXTERMINATE!" with as much efficiency as Bender bends.

CTC Command informed me that I was up aginst the T-3 chick . . . . where is that little tart?

I'm gonna show her what I think polymorphic metal was MEANT for ! I'll smack that ass like a particle accelerator.

As for the other tin cups, the only real contender is Robby, the only vistor to my home planet, before it was violently destroyed, long long after my ancestors perished.

2nd place goes to Commander Data.

In the ultimate Robot War showdown, ZP vs Skynet!

(sound of cheesy ring-side announcer)
"In the lefthand corner, weighing in at negative 187 pounds and deoxyribonucleic-free for 461 years, it's Krell!"

(much cheering amid some ardent booing)

"And in the opposite corner, from 40 years in the future, with her titanium-based endoskeleton, it's T-X!"

(Complete silence. Far off in the distance, the electrical searing sound of a hypno-toad can be faintly heard.)

and well, i've never really seen this Krell u speak of in any kind of real "droid" action.
so when is this Krell vs T-X, so i can see what he's made of?
and who is this T-X and why don't i know her???

Krell, the headphones you are wearing are most likely manufactured by Krell Industries, Inc.; they produce a high-end audio equipment headquartered in Orange, CT (not that far from me in RI, relatively speaking).

But the Krell originally were the super-race that built the civilization on Altair IV in the movie Forbidden Planet.

A google seach also turns up all kinds of other Krell-related phenomena--the aforementioned audio manufacturerer, a UK sludgemetal band (w/cool Boris-style half-naked woman t-shirts, coffee mugs and mouse pads), a production of Crazy Dog Audio Theatre called "Zombies of Dr. Krell," a gaming clan called "The Krell Imperium," a record company, a marine electronics company, a lighting supply company, an engineering company, a fiber-optics company, and a slew of graduate students and academics who have borrowed the Krell moniker.

I had no idea you had such industrial might.

Krell
May 26th, 2003, 12:18 PM
I am intimately familiar with Krell Industries, and have had my hands on more than a few pieces of their equipment, and youre correct about Altair IV, as it is called.

As you all know, I live underground, build my industrial complex.

You wont believe it but i even found a dog by the name of Krell. It is what else, but a rotwieller.

lol how befitting

Well they opened a Krispy Kreme near my house last week, it will be the death of me for sure. Remember the I Love Lucy, where she works at a candy factory, stuff all those chocolate covered cherries?

That's me with donuts.

wingnut2600
May 26th, 2003, 04:07 PM
I went and worked out yesterday and went to the spankin' new Krispy Kreme afterwards for a fresh, hot doughnut (it was Sunday after all). I waited in line and they gave me one hot off the line and gooey. Why does it have to be so close? We went in for one or two and walked out with a dozen and a free hot doughnut for each of us. There are only 6 left now...

By the way... what do we know of Krell's robot body? For all we know, he could be just a head sitting in a jar like all the celebrities on Futurama? His fighting prowess could be far less than expectations (unless he is TK-powered).

My vote is for C-3P0. How many robots can be easily destroyed and still function perfectly? Plus, wouldn't Anthony Daniel's voice strike fear into other bots? He could threaten them in thousands of languages as well.

Were you at 135th and Aurora, or is there another one? I was there yesterday late afternoon , maybe 5 or 6 pm

wingnut2600
May 26th, 2003, 04:27 PM
It is on about 125th and Aurora (Only about a mile from home [dammit] and two blocks away from where I work out [about twice a month])... I was there about noon... so many fuckin' donut freaks with their hats and dozens of donuts. I was very impressed by the way that they were made... it made the five minute wait worth it watching the doughnuts grow in the machine, cook in oil and be frosted (especially when they handed me the dripping, gooey, hot donut...

I doubt that it took much for the police presence at the opening... I was surprised that there were at least 6-8 police officers conducting traffic.

Poor Aurora Donuts/Baskin Robbins, I walked past them yesterday, going to Office Depot, before going to the Krispy Kreme and no one was there...

Krell
May 26th, 2003, 04:32 PM
lol Do you not know that is my hangout, the Burger King and Starbucks, the whole stretch along there, I live blocks from there. On any given day I am at that Starbucks

I go in to Office Depot occassionally

(all of this is within a 2 block stretch that can be seen unobstructed)

wingnut2600
May 26th, 2003, 04:47 PM
I told you where I lived before (about 125th and 12th Ave--across the freeway)... Yeah, I have a membership at the Bally's Fitness right there that I use very infrequently (although I am going to give it another go... I am eating too many doughnuts). I shop at the Albertson's across the street and am partial to the Staples (not a fan of Office Depot, but they have cheap and good inkjet paper).

So, just wondering, where is the closest Taco Bell? Is it the one on Lake City and 145th? (My wife loves their cheap food, but it does awful things to me).

I wouldn't be surprised if I have sworn at you behind your back (I am angry towards strangers) or we have bumped into each other before. You know what I look like (vaguely); perhaps if you see me you can swear back.

Krell
May 26th, 2003, 04:52 PM
Yah I have been down your way, just didint know you frequented that same damn parking lot I do each day.

Go up the hill one more block past 145th, and TB is on the right, before Wendys and Safeway.

Man it's a wonder you havent over heard me swearing about ZP before lol

CTC Command
May 26th, 2003, 06:30 PM
What a small world! reg0232 figured out that we're neighbors because we live in adjoining states, but you two guys actually frequent the same donut joint! Who have thought that my little thread about robots would bring two actual entities closer together?

Wingnut, I belong to a gym and the Y...donuts hold only a small candle to the flamethrowing power of Ben and Jerry's...I remember being able to eat ANYTHING and not gain any weight--I was a 32 waist for years and years. Now it's a constant battle to squeeze into 34's. Sit-up's, crunches, and stair climbers instead of donuts, Burger King and ice cream.

The Hunter
May 26th, 2003, 06:39 PM
Oh God CTC, say it isnt so, not you also. My size 32s have lately turned into a pressure bandage, and I am sorry to say that I also have had to go to the size 34s. Bloody imports, they must just be making them smaller, and saving on the material.

CTC Command
May 26th, 2003, 07:05 PM
That's gotta be it Hunter. Damn foreign textile manufacturers! Plus that "4 servings" in a container of Ben and Jerry's is a load of crap too--everyone knows that those are 1 serving containers.

Mel_Smiley
May 26th, 2003, 08:42 PM
Man it takes me atleast two stiing to eat one of those Ben N jerry's concoctions. Too much for me

CTC Command
May 26th, 2003, 09:56 PM
Then you're not doing it right. Try using the large wooden spoon that your mother used to beat you with...

j/k! You're talking to someone who drinks maple syrup, what the hell do I know about moderation or correct serving sizes?
