this is great little utility to help clean up your mp3s. it can remove silence from the beginning and end, as well as a whole bunch of other stuff.
Download it here (http://www.logiccell.com/~mp3trim/).

I like the mp3Trim Pro because sometimes I have large mp3 that mp3Trim can't handle....but mp3Trim is free.

Ive got a better program than mp3trim now! Its called mp3directcut. There is no size limit and it has a visual representation of the song. very good.

soundforge is nice, i like it, there are lots of options using soundforge, i like it. i might try the other one though mp3 trim, as i heard it is pretty good as well.
what i wanna do is use it to clear up the noise that i have, from a song, that was sung, but has echo. so i wanna be careful, as to what i do get rid of.
good though to have choices

mp3 trim, is cool, i just took the silence out of a wav file. it sounds good, by far, being that the song, is a karaokee song.
i converted to mp3 then it took the silence out, in very agressive mode.
rtw, the echo is gone too. :fire

what do i use if i downloaded a full album, but it is just one big mp3. i want to have each individual song though. what do i do. i tried renaming it to .zip and then using winzip, but that didnt work.
or does anyone know of a good p2p app that i can get full albums where i can unzip them to get each individul song

Usually, full albums come as individual songs either in a zip file, or in a folder on an ftp server. There is no way to "unzip" an mp3 file, but there is a program called GoldWave (you can get it from www.download.com) that will let you copy parts and paste them as new mp3s. So, you could just select each individual song, copy it and then paste it as a new song.
