Hey Guys, can someone tell me, why emule is sucking down my System?
2,5 GHz Athlon
1 GB RAM
WinXP SP1

When I start emule, it is no longer possible to play games like SoF2. eMule takes up to 25% of CPU and 17 MB Ram, and the Harddrive c: is working without interruption.
Are the programmers complete idiots??? I am using newest version 0.28.

I don't think they are idiots. It runs fine on my system (XP1800, 512 DDR). I can open Emule, Kazaa Lite, Bittorrent and Sharaza at the same time, and then still play SOF2. I suggest you check your Emule preferences before calling calling someone an idiot.

Hey, there is no preference like "use half of system speed" that could be unchecked. There are no problems with shareaza or Kazaa, just emule. And I do not understand either, why edonkey network needs to create the whole file after only having 2 Megs downloaded. (*buy new harddrive just for emule*). Smart apps do not try to annoy users like that.
The programmers aren't idiots for sure, but the app takes more system resources than the Doom3Demo - unbelieveble!

@stephen_sterritt: I go online over LAN.
