This is a poll for what gaming system is the best out there. We will be voting on the top 2 gaming systems out there today. (We are going by which 2 have the most power, speed, ect. So PS2 will NOT be in the vote, since it does not have more speed, and power, and memory than GameCube, and XBOX. So vote now for which system you like better! And tell a reason why if you'd like too.

The reason why I'm not posting PS2 is, cause it's to far behind, GameCube and XBOX have more than what PS2 has. Here let me show you

XBOX=64MB
PS2=32MB
GameCube=(I think) 64MB

XBOX=733Mhz
PS2=300Mhz
GameCube=500something.. like 533Mhz

XBOX=8GB
PS2=3GB
GameCube=(I Think) 6GB ... not sure.. but I think I read that.

So this is why I'm not posting PS2, cause it's nothing compared to these 2 systems. Sorry PS2 fans, but PS2 has already been OUTDATED! Theres something, new and improved out, this is always going to happen that something better comes out, it happens every 1-5yrs.

PS2 is better because it has better games and it should be included because its one of the avaible consoles out today.. If you choose your consolde based on specs only then you might not vote for ps2 but that doesnt mean others wont..

Gamecube and xbox doesnt have the games to draw people to use them.. And that is what counts..

heh ii'm still gonna have to say PS2 still because i think it has better desingers behind it. I am hoping Squaresoft will strike with a few other titles but can't talk bad bout FFX.I msut say i am however intrigued bout the new Super Metroid game. Sides as much as i like Halo it's Bill Gates start at taking over the world hehe either way just enjoy the games and experience. It's all about choice and that's the best thing.

I also think ps2 should be in there because pick a system not only on the specs but more on the games. Specs are important too but ps2 is fast enought and good enough for me. I think gamecube sux though because nintendo has not many good games because they dont make anymore after awhile. Look at n64, they dont make any new games but playstation is just as old as n64 and they still have games coming out.

PS2, it's hardware is not all that far behind, it uses completely different technological architecture so to compare direct mhz is just plain stupid, and what do you mean in the first catagory with the megabytes? Ps2 has more and better games than the other two so they're added power isn't really enough.

Powerman, you should edit your first post to say you're curious which of these will win and the reason you didn't include the PS2 was because you knew it would win. This would clear up some confusion and cut down on the flamage 'cause "weak specs" are the dumbest reason not to include a console. PSX vs. N64 comes to mind.

Look x-box doesnt have that many great games and since Halo is coming to the PC most likely most of whatever other popular games it has too its just another reason not to buy one..

It's pretty obvious XBOX is the most technically advanced system, so it would win that.

But as far as games go, the Gamecube might win that in a few months. The thing is, the system falters because most developers believe it has the most kiddie users (which it does), and therefore we can only look to Nintendo to bring us the darker games. Even then, Nintendo doesn't focus on that, so that's why the Gamecube has gone down the road of the N64. It will have some great first party games soon, but that's about it.

The XBOX will have more network-based games so it all depends on what you like.

Although I've always been one for Nintendo's first-party games, I think I'd have to say the XBOX is a better system.

Why do you buy a console? Right, to play games. So the power of the console don't matter. The games do. And yes, with more power you can make better games, but then it's enough to vote on the games. Voting on console power is stupid.

Actually, ps2 is a little outdated. But sony was very smart, bringing the ps2 on the market so early. Because, now everybody already has a ps2. And a lot of people who already have a console don't buy a second...

If i had to buy a console right now, I'd go with ps2 or x-box. Ps2, because there is a wide variety of games on it. Something to please everybody. And x-box, because the graphics in the x-box games are AMAZING and it has a lot of strong titles! The gamecube is more for little kids. With games like mario etc etc.
But, the gamecube is not too expensive for a new machine.... So actually, all of those consoles are good. But there is just one main rule:

Haven't you always noticed that even though you have the facts right in front of your nose, you still say that your console is better, i mean, live with it, xbox, (like AMD processors vs. P4 pro's) is by far better in performance better than ps2, theres no further question about it. what makes PS2 so damn good. Is that you can play your old playstation game. It was one of the first consoles to do that. Nintendo and sega kept releaseing different cartrdige sizes on their new system. I Like xbox cause its easier to get online, and have downloadable content. KEEPS the games fresh, when new maps come out.

also we know ps2 came out before xbox.. and i am not sure about gamecubes release. But i remember it being alot cheaper then ps2.

At this moment GameCube is ahead in the poll.

Everyone one says PS2 is the greatest, and yes the games are good, although the PS2 console has the worst quality rating out of all three in workmanship. It also has the most technical problems including the faulty CD drive motor, laser, DVD-video reader rom, and even the controller has some wear issues. I know about 4 people where their PS2 controllers have split in half from the bottom just because it fell off the coffee table.

I dont know, my NES still works, but Im hearing lots of broken PS2's now, some less than 1 year from purchase. I guess Sony's quality clock has expired on these consoles, hoping that u would buy another PS2.

Wait a couple of years and see how fun your PS2 will be when its broken.
Sony has to get serious with their quality problems or get out of the buisness.

yeah it looks like everyone that hates microsoft will go with gamecube. If you ever play xbox live and rainbow six, counter strike, full spectrum warrior, as well as many other games. You would like it very much. I have ps2 and has not fallen apart and its very durable. I own both so i can play both games. PC games arent worth it to me, i would have to buy a pc controller, keep up with the video card issues, and i rather have a home pc for music and work.

PS2 and I had my orginal controllor fall off my desk several time and still works with no cracks in it.

I heard all the talks on all three systems and for it could handle it should be the xbox beating the other easy with the PS2 in last place but when it comes to games it the ps2 leading the following by a close race between the GC and the XBOX and that the more important area is how well are the games design for that system. Most game for the GC and XBOX don't tap the true power of the system so that why the GC and XBOX sucks as they do.

It doesn't make a different if you have a system that has 20 Thz with real life ability when the games made for that system look like crap with more bugs then an ant farm.

The problem with the PC is that some games doesn't use the joystick but have the most power of all 4 and with the right system has less retriction on it, unlike PS2, GC, & XBOX. MP3 and other audio format are standard on the PC while it hard to get the other to play mp3 or other audio files so if you hate the music that on the game, no problem just disable the music and play your own.

Sony know how to market games machine and that's about it. There success is based on ex-Nintendo fanboys who couldn't wait for the N64 and wouldn't buy anything from Sega, and people who jumped on the "3D graphics are so cool" bandwagon. The PS2 is technically, a dud, and Sony have admitted as much. The intial hype is now so far from what has emerged that nobody wants to remember what Sony actually promised. Enjoy your PS2, but don't think you're enjoying playing games.

I love playing games on xbox, and i heard that games that are out for pc market and playing online with have people hacking.. and making GoD MODE.. and crap.

I was playing rainbow six, have my head set on.. and the guy thats on my team talks on his headset. and the character moves his mouth.. that is just awesome. I like the xbox since it came with a hard drive, 10/100 network card. No need to buy a memory card. It takes no time to beat a ps2 game. I think the graphics are so good on it that theres no room to make the game longer.

I have gamecube, xbox, and play station 2, and N64 hooked up with my surround sound in my room. Game cube is the worst system I have ever played. The games which are released are kids games with hardly any action, killing, shooting. Its graphics in my opinion are over exaggerated and less than the so called lower PS2. Since PS2 is not in the competition I vote XBOX hands down.

The best and longest lasting game system, GameBoy. Out shined now by the new and upcoming potable game systems, it still remains a classic.

Also Worth mentioning, Atari 5200, ColecoVision,Nes, SuperNes. Emulation is a gift from the Gods.

while these systems may not be as powerful, that is unimportant to actual gameplay in most situations. Just because somthing is more powerful doesn't mean that it is better. Sure, the Dreamcast and PS2 may not have as pretty graphics (the PS2 is almost unnoticable), but its the games that make the system. For example: say a new system comes out, sporting a 2GHZ processor, 512MB ram, a big hard drive, etc, but the programming is so complicated and obscure, that companies wont be releasing games for it for a good year atleast. would you buy it? I know i wouldnt.

2) you have tainted the poll by adding your own opinion to the options. "Kick A$$" is not going to get you an unbiased view. Neither will your somewhat less obvious view of the gamecube, exemplified by positioning it second and adding the word "or."

3) No matter what, everyone will have their preferences. Maybe one console has a game that they really like, or maybe they are loyal to a certain company. Whatever it may be, people will always have their opinion. You will never, in a million years, change someone's opinion by using your own opinion. Should you try, they will just resent you for trying, like im sure many people in this thread do.

well if game developers want to make money, they need to quit exclusively having it for one console. Many new things are in xbox that wasnt in ps2.. and splinter cell pandora tomorrow got released with a live multiplayer jungle map that xbox didnt have. I am glad of competition. So I say Dreamcast. It was the first System to allow Online Game Play. Theres 3rd Party Games. You can run Linux on it. For A Limited time it had a Zip Drive, Broadband Adapter, DVD Rom. You Dont need a Mod Chip.
