I'm looking for a program or utility that would let someone non-techie (my mom) to tell if the internet is working on our computer at a glance. We have WinXP with several screen names, and she's all confused when I'm running AOL (don't laugh, I have to use it to get high speed) and she wants her email. Something that sits in the taskbar, perhaps...:mellow

Windows xp has it own little icon to tell you when you are online to turn it on do this

1.)Click Start
2.)Then go to Control Panel
3.)Then Click on "Network and internet Connections
4.)Then click on Network Connections
5.)Right-Click on your internet connection
6.)Go to properties
7.)And at the Bottem(Or Near the bottem) of the window that opens up click on "Show Icon in notification area when connected"
8.)Click on OK

There you go if it does not work please tell me and I will ad a pic to show you what the icon looks like...
