Hi All

I've just heard from Yahoo that there will be anti-spamming laws in England. I haven't heard anything else but this, and, oh, it starts on 22nd this month.

Anyone knows more on this? I wonder how it will be enforced though? It'd be great if Norton or some software companie makes software to track down spammers and people who send virii and DoS under one whole package. Then you can use that to get the sender prosecuted! :shy

Hey mate

Well first time I cross it, it was just like a non-clickable image, once I've entered into my inbox. I've searched Yahoo itself and the best pages I can view, well one of them I have to register, so I'll do that later if I can't find out what I need.

Surprisingly my bro found out this but it's usually me who gets to know these legal issues.

I'll find out some more stuff on this later and post it if I can get some good links........

Well I've found some other related anti-spamming articles.....

What I don't understand is that instead of these huge fines, issue the recipients of spam (plaintiffs) exemplary damages of the same amount.

So that instead of the fine going to the State, the recipient will get the handsome sum of cash instead.....and if the sender of spam fails to do then that is a criminal offence......it's prison time :cross

How would this apply to spammers who exist out side of england?

This law could not touch them right?

Yes these can. We can either get them extradited, or trick them into making something so we can get them.

The way I see it. If anyone abroad attacks or interferes with a computer, which is property within another country, then by interfering with it, they become subject to its laws, as if they were in the oiriginal country to start with.

I was told 90% of all spam in UK came from USA.......f!ck knows why...go and spam France instead.

Trouble is I don't think USA will sign up to the Cybercrime convention, which doesn't help.....So of they want a hacker etc from the UK then we won't bother extraditing him..simple as that.

Hey if someone hijacked a vessel and sent a missile to the USA, but the vessel belonged to France, and sent the missile from the Atlantic sea, outside of American shores. And hit New York or something......you telling me that America would say nah we can't do anything.....they're not within our jurisdiction............ummmmmmmm....yeah right lol

I'm surprised that USA didn't 'cotton on' first on this issue to be honest!
