You do know those are in kilobits now KB/s right?

If you want to see speeds that you are accustomed to.. go to preferances and under general change SHOW RATES IN to KB/s

basically what evil is saying is that the number you're seeing is increased by a factor of 8. so if you're getting 1000kb/s, that translates int 125KB/s. nothing too spectacular there, though i'd kill for speeds like that since i max out at about 1/2 that....
/me grumbles at crappy broadband ISP

somebody needs to be educated on some basics :

open you pc calculator and divide your speedy

988Kb by 8

you will get a broadband standard range of 123.5KB
which is more of what your used to seeing

like Wonderboy said nothing spectacular

also, if it is in kilobytes, it's still a false report. shareaza averages dl bandwidth. so if you're pc lags for a second, and the file was really dl'ing at 500kB/s, it will write 1000kB/s... if you ever have a link that doesn't dl real quickly, you can't trust the reported speed, you hafta open up a monitor window or the tooltip and look at the graph... shareaza is crappy like that.

ya it would be pretty amazing to get speeds of megabytes but i made a mistake im not a newbie with comps or on zp ive been on zp alot longer than most people here but i havent posted on fourms that often. I havent used shareaza that often untile now that it got bittorrent and edonkey thats the only reason i reinstalled it because it wasnt going anywhere with g1 and g2...

It Sucks! What did you expect?

It Sucks! What did you expect?

Since all the publicity that they gave Shareaza i expected a minimally good client for us 56k'ers/Windows ME people. Sure i have pretty crappy hardware but at least when Shareaza was normal i could connect to Gnutella (which i dont want to) but damn, i cant even connect to Gnutella!!!, this tells me that all they did was add a new GUi and the new networks and that's it. Shareaza is now for the 'fast' people. I guess ill stick with KL, IMesh and File Share.

It's hard to find any good clients when you're on 56K and running Windows ME. I know, I've been there. It was a very grim computing experience.

This is about Shareaza and speeds.. not about your opinion whether shareaza is good or not

If it lags for a second, wouldn't that slow down the average speed too isus?

good question... hmm... i dunno... i mean, if windows lags... then shareaza would see 1000kB/s for 1 second, bc that would be what windows reports... so i dont think so. but anything is possible.

it's windows, so...
