I am doing a report in english class on a law, rule, or act that i dont like and would like to change and i have chosen the digital mellinium copyright act, and copyright infringement laws. I need some good information and links arguing against p2p being illegal and telling reasons why it should be legal and the battles against napster, kazaa, ect. Anyone with any information and any links helping me would be very appreciated. thanks.

Don't foget you can look up some cases that help decide these issues that already happen elsewhere outside the USA. Good examples would bein English law. Major cases are reported and freely available - just need to know where to look. And the reports already show the arguments and then what's been decided etc.

If you ever want to look up any English stuff to help support either argument look on www.bailii.org - they publish major cases in the higher courts, and www.hmso.gov.uk for legislation and statutory instruments

Oh look up any offences contrary to the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 for English law in case you're interested! Then use other Acts and place it in a search on Bailii, then you've got most of what you'll need.

Oh BTW apparently USA and UK are signees to WIPO so may be you could include something from there. Guess that means if anyone in USA infringes a copyright and the IP owner is in England then he can sue with the agreement between the USA and UK, and vice versa. I don't know much about this organisation, just came across it a minute ago.

Hope this will be useful.
