I can't connect to the network for 3 days now nor can I get to the WinMX homepage. I am using the most current version (3.22) of WinMX. The last time I was able to use the network was Wednesday. Can you offer any suggestions?

Something going on at WinMx. It may be a new upgrade. They are supposed to be doing this weekly now.

I haven't had any problems with My Winmx. It's been Dl great past few days. I was gonna say do you have latest update and if not try that. Otherwise like CrazyHorse says expect another update soon.

Hi,

I've been unable to connect to winMX for ages now. Like about a month or so. I figured it maybe the upgrade - winMX 3.22 so I downgraded but still the problem persists.

When I was initially introduced to this marvellous P2P program everything went fine and dandy until the upgrade. Now 3.2 won't connect either.

During set up I do everything the same as the day I first tried it. Nothing works.

Are there any connection speeds that have been excluded or something like that? I have a 56k connection,so yeah. Bummer really. That's the only reason I can figure why I can't connect anymore.

Can anyone help please

Thanks:)

One thing you can try. Do a clean install of the latest version some ppl have had prob when they "upgraded" by installing over the previous version.

My specs are:
966mhz, XP: Home, 128sdram.

What is a clean install? Does that require doing more than removing everything from ADD or REMOVE programs?

What I have done is go to Add or remove programs and remove winMX 3.1 (in previous post I said 3.2 but I meant 3.1:/) and everything has indicated that this has been successful, then I reboot. After that I install winMX 3.22 from the set up files I have. It goes through the processes and asks me which colour for bground etc and rebuilds the shared file library thing. That's as far as it gets :/. After that the yellow light keeps on blinking and doesn't at any time change to green:(

I have also tried the above, plus removing the winMX file with the colour settings inside which is left behind after using add or remove programs. I don't think this makes any difference though.

this happens to people where they can't connect to winmx, and it sits there blinking on yellow, I would have to wait like 3min sometimes to get on!.. I dunno what goes on, maybe its full or something... but who knows....

You may have to go into the settings and fiddle around with "internet connection" settings. There are several settings there like incoming UDP and outgoing and a couple of others. Since you have XP you may have to mess with these settings and tweek them. Read them carefully and just try resetting them. If it doesn't work you can always put them back the way you had them.

I'm in the game again:D Just upgraded to WinMX 3.22. I found i was using 3.2 afterall :/:P

3.22 connected in a jiffy, but I no longer use WinMX mostly. Kazaalite 1.7.2 with Diet Kazaa and sig2dat are really g00d:D

If I had cable though, i'd probably use winMX i think, but kazaalite seems bett0r 56k, i reckon.
