Hello there,

mmm... Maybe this has been discussed before, and if so, I truly apologize, but I didn't find any info when searching through the messages...

I've been experiecing a VERY frustrating thing for a couple of weeks now. Everything I have been downloading from Kazaa or Kazaa Lite lately is CUT. I have like 30 / 40 seconds of music and poof no music anymore, though the file lengh is the correct lengh of the song, the file weight is a normal mp3 weight etc.

I can't download ANYTHING now, it's all cut... There is probably an explanation to this damn new thing, and a workaround, right ? There has GOT to be one... :mellow

I hope someone here can help me out, or at least explain to me where and how this can happen (is there a filter or something on the Kazaa client, or are the files dispatched by unkind souls or something ?)

Thanks a bunch in advance !

i also had this problem. the album i was trying to download hasnt been released yet but they were the right songs. i think it was released onto kazaa on purpose so when it actually is released less people will download because they can't tell which ones are real. possible?

hey there

I did a bit more research... i used to search for "cut mp3s" and such when the right name for what we have been experiencing is more like mp3 loops.
I found info here after my searches on loops, though nothing to well... fight against it, sadly. From what I read this whole crap comes from the record labels, they have a company called... erm... overpeers or someting that drowns the real files in the middle of tons and tons of looped mp3... and it SUCKS.

Hope this helped

Maybe you could download that AVI preview thingi that is quite useful for checking for fake songs.

I have a feeling your downloading currently popular tunes.

so riaa is most likely involved and has seeded the kazaa network with those files to thwart your experience.

Make sure you

A. Are downloading a file that has a lot of sources.

B. I would avoid 128 kbps quality, since its the most common and probably a good candidate for a fake.

Thats it.

Honestly, how do you people manage to find these looped mp3s... In all my days of downloading music from Kazaa I have NEVER gotten a fake. Period. I'm not even sure if they exist. Really, most of it is just common sense. (I.E. use the file with the most sources).

Yeah, that's the base of a good download.

Be careful when downloading marilyn mansons "the golden age of grotesque" album. lots of looped mp3 things. maybe wait till the album is actually released.

Yep, sounds like overpeer. Remember the size of the file you download so as not to downloaded it anymore, and try another one.
