I know there used to be some really awesome computer games back in the day. I remember a game where you could fly your little ship around in 2D from a bird's eye view and shoot other people, you had to go on missions and buy and sell stuff and jack people's cargo and money and stuff. Anyone know what that is called?
I also remember a tank game where you had to put in the power and angle and you were trying to kill the other people, this was 2D from the side. Anyone know what these games are called?
What are your other favorite old skewl games?

The first game you described sounds like Elite.
I never had a computer when I was younger so I didn't play all those speccy/Amiga/Commodore64 games. Well, only a few on my mate's C64. There was Bruce Lee, Manic Miner, Flip Flop, Bristles, The Rocky Horror Show, The Staff of Karnath, or something like that. It was made by Ultimate Play the Game aka Rare.
I was more a arcade fan/legend. I mastered Mr. Do, Rygar, Rastan, Ikari Warriors, Jackal, Salamander, Gradius, R-Type, Twin Cobra, Raiden, Cadash, Toki, Super Pang, Caveman Ninja, Metal Slug.
I never played Beat Em Up's though, couldn't stand them.

i remember this game i used to play back in 1995 which was a little 3d house youd go through, and just walk around it, and i think it was 2d making it look like 3d. id like to play it again, if anyone thinks they know it, could they tell me?
the computers at the technology center i used to go to had ibm pc's with windows 3.11 (ah those were the days) and there was this racing game, and a game called 4d sports boxing. that was the best thing to 3d you could get back then.
theres a game at my school on a old macintosh lc iii that has prince of persia on it, that game is pretty cool, but i always got killed.
sometimes i do prefer oldschool nes, snes, genesis games over todays games. i mostly play the ones i was hooked on, and worn out to bring back nostalgia. anyone else miss the 16bit gaming area?
