UTC merges with pctechtalk.com

This is what greated me when I visited UTC today.


We got some huge news folks. After months of planning, www.unitethecows.com is merging with our sister site, www.pctechtalk.com! All accounts and memberships will be transfered as they are. All of of our forums and threads will be transferred as well. In other words, all accounts and threads will be intact.

This is great for so many reasons, they are too numerous too mention. All of our previous database errors and bandwitch overruns should be a thing of the past. But the best thing is, we are expanding our horizons! We will be now more of an overall site, including PC Technical, Product Reviews, Digital Media, Filesharing etc.

So come on over to www.pctechtalk.com, our new pasture and home!

I dunno, I don't particularly like the "new" UTC. It look less like a P2P site, more like a tech help, tech related site.

Worst of all, NO MOO BOX!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the best of my knowledge it will be similar, but with more tec articles. All being equal, I wish them all the best of luck.

Will they change the look and feel to something different to what it is currently?

Right now, it isn't very appealing, to me anyway.

UTC was always a nice place to visit.

Sorry, but I am not privvy to that info, but you can always ask that question there. Although i would wait a bit, as it looks like they have been working overtime getting things straightened out. One thing though, they will not be lacking mods.

I can safely say things will be adjusted to support the interests of UTC. We have tried very hard to accomidate everything that has occured in the past 24 hours.. and yes.. we have been really busy trying to get everything sorted out.

Either way.. we still will be supporting P2P just as UTC did.. and hopefully with a bit more tech input we can make sure no one has trouble getting their applications to work.

I was beginning to like UTC.. but don't tell anyone. :-P

Oh well PCTechTalk isn't a bad site, and it's run by some of the better UTCers out there.. so I guess this isn't too bad. You've got my support Cirga, if it means anything. ;-)
