It takes a scanner and a llot of time, there is no automation unless you find an automated feed scanner, then you can rip the pages out and do double side scans or single.

How do I then put the images all into 1 .pdf file?

if you dont wanna pay for acrobat, and you have access to a mac running osx, just open the image(s) in 'preview', and export as pdf.

If you really want Adobe Acrobat, then you could always download a *trial* version off of Kazaa.

Yeah, I think I should download a *trial* off KaZaA, it seems a really useful program.
