Anatomic P2P

Anatomic P2P is a promising BitTorrent project has released Main 0.1 RC1, the release is available on all major OS's.

Anatomic P2P which is an attempt at a true decentralised BitTorrent Network. It works on a (supernode) caching system concept based on the Gnutella system of GWebCaches with modified FBT2 trackers written in PHP and a modified BitTornado client written in Python. The network is currently active in a beta stage and is open for public use.

For those of you that don't know what Atomic P2P is, it's a open source project attempting to decentralize BitTorrent using a supernode caching system. Anatomic P2P is a decentralised BitTorrent network with supernodes and trackers distributed on many servers. The supernode concept is based on Gnutella and the program is completely Open Source under the GNU General Public License v2.

File Distribution:

To distribute files on the network a user makes a torrent file as usual. This torrent file has to be planted on the network, which is the process of notifying the supernodes and nodes (by HTTP) that the file is going to be shared on the network. This can be done through a simple wizard. The Anatomic P2P network has backwards compatibility (dubbed 'hackwards compatibility'), which allows most other BitTorrent clients can use Anatomic P2P planted torrents.

BitTornado - A deprecated command-line client is also available. The client supports torrents using a single tracker or torrents planted on the Anatomic P2P Network.
